Any Fresh-Market Experts?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

We'll be heading to Chiang Rai around April, and would like to know if there is a farmers market/wholesale market in Chiang Rai/CR Province. Here in Chanthaburi we go twice a week to the wholesale market, where they have piles of fruits and cheap prices. We've heard Muang Mai Market in CM is good, and were hoping to find something like that around Chiang Rai. Any tips?

P.S. Does anyone know the average price for Mangosteens and Passionfruits over there, in season?

There's a great veg and fruit market just East of the old bus station called Kart Sirigorn.

All the usual fresh foods but don't know prices.

(Kart = Northern dialect for Talad)

There is a big wholesale market for fruits and veggies on the highway semi across from Big C .

I believe there are two large - wholesale fresh fruit market in Chiang Rai. One is near See Yaek Mae Korn (left side after intersection heading towards south) and the other one near See Yaek Sri Sai Moon (left side before intersection - heading into town).

i buy just for family use

central departement store first floor near entrance door from front building

they have only vegetable from royal projent

Just before Thaiwatsadu there is a little soi , go down into it and you will see the best market around .They sell wholesale so you have to buy in larger amounts. I go there with friends and we divide up the cost .
