TAT holds online Muay Thai contest
The Nation

BANGKOK: -- The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has launched an online contest designed to increase exposure of the Kingdom's "Thainess" niche-market products across the global social media networks through a "Muay Thai" video contest offering prizes worth more than Bt1 million.

Tourism and Sports Minister Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul, TAT Governor Thawatchai Arunyik and well-known Thai boxer Buakaw Banchamek attended the recent launch of the "One and Only" contest at The Peninsula Hotel Bangkok.

Buakaw Banchamek told the media he was honoured to be taking part in the new online activity and proud that the TAT had adopted Thai kick-boxing to promote the country.

The campaign covers a variety of topics, including "Thai Garland", "Thai Dance", "Thai Food" and "Speaking Thai Language".

The three teams voted to have the best Muay Thai video will win round-trip tickets and other prizes worth more than Bt1 million.

Applications for the "One and Only" contest are now being accepted from foreigners.

Thais wishing to take part can register in May.
