BANGKOK: -- The Crime Suppression Division (CSD) yesterday submitted an 8,700-page case of alleged embezzlement of Bt1.47 billion from King Mongkut's Institute for Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL) to the Bangkok Min Buri Court public prosecutor. The prosecutor will decide on the case on March 17.

Case investigators agreed to sue 14 suspects - including former KMITL executives Thawil Phuegma and Sappasit Limnorarat, as well as key suspect Kittisak Matthujad, who is still on the run - on five charges, said CSD deputy chief Pol Colonel Nos Sawetlek.

The allegations were of theft, forging and using official documents, embezzlement (if a suspect wasn't a state official, he/she would face a charge of aiding embezzlement), negligence of duty and money laundering.

Nos said this case report regarded alleged events between 2012 and 2013 involving Bt1.04 billion missing from KMITL's four bank accounts. CSD would continue to probe what happened earlier and during events held between 2013 and 2014.
