You obviously haven't changed the timing belt (100,000KM) on your PJS yet then. That's 13K Baht on it's own Plus, the PJS/VIGO need servicing every 10,000KM - Ford's are at 15,000KM intervals. Exactly! Plus Mitsubishi's GENUINE Oil for the PJS is a rebranded Shell HX7 (Semi-synthetic) which they sell for 1,010 THB. We sell them for 800 THB. If you ask for the synthetic Genuine Oil which is a rebranded Shell HX8 (no the ultra) then it's 1,700 THB. Or you can do as I did, I brought my own oil to Mitsubishi and asked them to use that instead. No problems. Yes changed it about a year ago 8500, so what extra does the ford need other than oila nd filters?? stupid expensive. Your ~2,200 Baht service price is using mineral oil. If you opt for synthetic oil (like Ford use standard), you're at ~3,000 Baht. Comparing apples to apples, for 150,000KM travelled, The Everest costs 51,622 Baht (inc VAT) to service - or 42,769 Baht if you opt into the SSP program. The PJS, using synthetic oil costs around 58,000 Baht, or using cheap oil around 46,000 Baht. The Toyota about the same. Not expensive at all. And they had no problem if you supplied the oil yourself (but it had to be Shell Helix Ultra) - so it was nothing to do with profit taking... Just saying.. If you want a 5 year/150,000KM extended warranty on a Ford Everest, you pay 21,700 Baht, with no change to the service schedule at all. But they use only fully synthetic oil regardless.
