I'm thinking of coming to Pattaya for a few days during the school holidays. I'm not into any sort of night scene - if you know what I mean!

What is there to do in Pattaya and the surrounding area during the day-time? I have a car - so getting around won't be a problem.

Thanks for any help :o

Golf, beach, scuba, water park, shopping, cinema, bowling, touristy bits ie Croc farm, Tiger Zoo, Elephant Park, Massage (proper sort), Gun Range, Go Karts, Buddha Hill... sure others can add on. :o

Okay, maybe I could do with a little bit more info - where things are, etc. Do you know anything about the water park?

PS. Thanks for a very speedy reply

I was thinking of staying at the Pattaya Park Beach Resort. Has anyone ever stayed there?

Take a drive South about 8km to Ban Amphoe to arrive at sunset and eat seafood at the Preecha restaurant.

We stayed there about 18 months ago. :D Lots and lots of tattood Russians :D very very rude people. the hotel isn't too bad, it is in need of updating as it looks very tired and worn (a bit like me really). All in all it wasn't bad but we wouldn't go back. I would not recommend the buffet in the revoving restaurant. Too expensive and not enough blooming prawns thanks to Ivan and Svetlana :o

Would anyone care to reccomend a decent hotel then? Or a serviced apartment? It's only for about a week?

I think one would need a bit of a clue as to who, how many, how much and such begfore venturing a recommendation....

Well, nothing over 1000 per night. And not too seedy. And not too far away.

I just stayed at Diamond City Place serviced apartments. At the intersection of the 3rd road and South Pattya road and is a little farther from the beach than most hotels. But the place is new and really does look like the pictures on their website. Baht buses go by so it's an easy ride towards the beach, but I walked it every day instead, sometimes a couple times round trip. I did sometimes take the bus back at nights though.

Large room with more storage space than I've ever had in all but the most expensive hotels. Front desk staff was great and recognized me from day one. Most other websites to book them had a double rate the same as the single rate on their website.

They have wireless internet available on a pay for time basis so you can use your own laptop.

Behind the buildings across the street and down a couple blocks was a long strip of tent shops that were opened from late morning to maybe 3PM. Almost exclusive Thai shoppers so real bargains to be had.

Had previously stayed at the Lek Hotel with the ex which was also fairly good. Much more central and still quiet with a huge breakfast buffet. But a little more rundown for the cheaper rooms.
