As the topic suggests...

There are so many I have seen.

I'll never forget Buxton Festival in the early 1970's. Mud, rain and mayhem.

Performers like Chuck Berry, Nazareth, The Move to name some that I remember.

A few of us managed to shin up a pipe to get on stage when Chuck Berry was playing. Before security could throw us off stage, Chuck told them it was okay. On stage with Chuck Berry? Brilliant.

Rolling stones - seen them loads of times.

The Who - a couple of times.

The Moody Blues - twice. Last time at Newcastle Arena. Two drummers vying with each other. From up in the balcony it was a fantastic sight.

AC/DC -once. Absolute madness rolleyes.gif

Status Quo - loads of times.

Hawkwind - twice

Bryan Adams - twice

Split Enz - once

Saxon - several times before they made it to the big time.

Many more that I cannot remember. Sadly, I never saw Pink Floyd or Led Zepplin live.

I still have plenty of T-shirts from some of those concerts - not that they fit me now blink.png

Come one, give us your live bands and any stories related to them. There must be plenty of you who have been to concerts.

You guys must be a bit older than me but I have seen the stones, the who and AC/DC.

Did Glastonbury a couple of times. Been to countless gigs but the best live act I've seen and I laughed when my uncle talked me into it was muse at the city ground. If you get a chance to watch those chaps I'd recommend it if you like live music.

To all the chaps that's posted on this thread, out of the artists you have seen what would you say was the best? I'm not taking the piss, just intrested as I'm a music fan myself.

Loads of Aussie bands that no-one has mentioned.

Cold chisel, Aussie crawl, Rose tattoo, Midnight oil, etc. etc.

Plus a few other lesser known.

Pink floyd, U2, Deep purple, Fleetwood mac, acdc......

I can't believe no-one has confessed to Susan Boyle or Liberachi.

Small venue: Jethro Tull, Peter Gabriel.

Large venue/outdoors: Pink Floyd, or any of the good rock bands (Deep purple, acdc)

Sipi Susan is one of our finest artist that came from one of the greatest british TV shows britain's got talent. The finest winner of that show and by far the greatest entertainers that ever graced this earth are a Greek father and son team. Stavros flatly. I can't post videos but I'm sure you can help me out.

Elvis. Straight up and outright. Saw him 3 times in Vegas and Lake Tahoe.

I have seen many Norwegian bands but none of them are world famous .

But I've been to concerts with U2 , Rolling Stones (3 times), Paul McCartney (twice) , Michael Jackson, Pink Floyd , 10cc, Queen, Dire Straits, Bruce Springsteen, Kim Wilde and some other 80's band that I enjoyed. Good memories.

Liberace was the second best stage performer I've seen behind only Elvis. Stage presence and performer. I saw him twice in Lake Tahoe.

Shise, i have to use a pen and paper and write them down and then re type them here. And no. i don't have a scanner.

Ok, wine time. This is going to take time - i have to go right back to the first. Which i know was Van Morrison when i was 15, because my brother gave me my first joint to smoke. I was already smoking cigs at that time so i could "inhale" the j.

Good list Patsy

How could have forgotten The Pogues?

They were a great gig as we had backstage passes as my mate worked behind the bar that they were staying in.

A guy called "spider" gave 3 of us a crate of beer and I rolled a joint for Shane, who must have drank a whole bottle of tequila himself - my kinda guy.

Agree with the big E.....

Dire Straits....with the guitar magic of MK - 2 tight drummer and horn section blended perfectly....

And the one that caught me by surprise......a 3+ hour concert by Elton John....in between the

schlocky weird outfits era and the sellout that is the Vegas shows/style/venue it was a pretty masterful performance....at an ampitheater that was LOUD and the air quality/clouds made for an electric - laid back experience

Fun time concert with audience participation and a downright drunken orgy of fun - Jimmy Buffet

Not many for me tho I love my music.

Paul McCartney

Billy Joel

Paul Weller

Squeeze

Richard Ashcroft

Kaiser Chiefs

Peters and Lee.

Seen way too many (from AC-DC to ZZ Top) to list and or remember.

Been to all the big concerts from Glastonbuty, Reading and Donnington, Pink Floyd and Zeppelin were probably the biggest crowds.

Too be honest I preferred the smaller more intimate venues.

As for the best,

Rory Gallagher (RIP) seen him many times, a very modest guy, no gimmicks or stage shows or dancing girls, just straight forward rock and blues, NEVER saw him give a bad performance or treat us like mugs with the usual R&R BS like, "its great to be back in ......." or that other old cliche "wow thanks you guys are the best crowd" blah blah blah

Warren Zevon (RIP) what an atmosphere. was like one big party, another no nonsense performer.

Ted Hawkins (RIP) a guy most people have never heard of.

The Velvet Underground on their tour of 20 years ago, will never be seen again.

Television, awesome band.

Queen (RIP Freddy) not even a Queen fan, but that giuy was an entertainer and could work a crowd.

The Black Crowes, great jam band, can take a 5 minute song and jam it out into 15 minutes.

The Church, the most under rated band of all time, its almost criminal they way they have been treated.

Bands that for one reason or another I regret not seeing, Joy Division and Talk Talk.

Richard Ashcroft was great. Can I please ask you not to go to any of his future concerts. One of my favorite singers and I hope he will make many more great records.

Last thing I need for you to is to write a post mentioning you went to see Richard Ashcroft (RIP)
