Mother Nature decided to take a firm hand in the development, or otherwise, of Beach Road on Tuesday night when most of Pattaya city was subjected to a massive rainstorm. The storm, which began with an unexpectedly heavy downpour around 8.30pm that lasted for almost an hour, turned parts of the city into a lake and made driving a car or motorbike almost impossible in certain areas. After easing off for an hour or so, the heavens opened up again around 11.00pm to give wide areas of the city yet another soaking.

The damage wrought by the heavy rains was most noticeable along Beach Road and large sections of the beach itself which were washed away. Entire sections of the beach sand were gouged out by the rain and the high seas which hit the shoreline propelled by an on-shore wind.

City officials inspected the beach areas on Wednesday morning and have promised to return the beach and the damaged promenade back to their former pristine condition as quickly as possible.

Or by some local officials brother who has a contract to dig it up and forget about it

Yep the half wits decided to build up the beach with sand up to the level of the retaining wall and now when the winds blow in from the sea Beach Road and area is covered in sand and when it rains hard the sand is washed out to sea again. :o
