I don't know but refreshing. In other countries the media often says that when suspects are in fact assumed innocent until found guilty by independent judicial authorities.

Add another factor to the list of available displays of "Thainess"...tourist seldom hear about these criminals from tour companies...can not be too careful when protecting your valuables...

....alleged implies that he may not be charged....even with his confession...and so much evidence...

...sounds about right.....

...but only for ............

What amazes me is that the RTP often get suspect to admit to a pattern of similar crimes committed before they were caught in the instance being described. I can't imagine why the suspects would do this....just digging themselves into a deeper hole.

Police reenactments are such perverse publicity stunts, especially in the cases when the accused pleads innocence.

Alleged means he's yet to be charged or convicted. With Thai laws on defamation of character it's always smart to say alleged instead of the scumbag did it- that's up to the courts to decide..... but hey, why stop you having a dig at Thailand huh?

Kwan’s arrest was announced by Ayutthaya police chief Pol Maj Gen Sermkid Sitthichaikarn.

Ayutthaya police chief calls Korat police chief: "What you got to announce this morning? I have only a snatcher!"

"Oh, I have a jaywalker, but Bangkok police chief has it worse - he's got a litterer. So, your snatcher will steal our headlines this morning, you lucky dog!'

Why does it say "allegedly" when he turns himself in and admits it?

Because we all know that no Thai would actually do such a thing.....
