Cow Causes Motorcycle Crash Leading to Fatality in Nakhon Ratchasima
The incident occurred on the evening of October 4, when a cow unexpectedly ran in front of a motorcycle, leading to a fatal crash in Nakhon Ratchasima. The incident took place on the road between Ban Suai and Rang Khai Yai, near a gas station in Phimai District. According to reports, the victim, identified as 35-year-old Ms. Chinnicha (surname withheld), an employee of the Rang Khai Yai Subdistrict Municipality, was riding her Yamaha Grand Filano motorcycle when the cow cut across her path. This caused her to lose control and fall onto the road. Moments later, she was struck by a black Chevrolet sedan, driven by 38-year-old Mr. Kampon (surname withheld), who was traveling in the opposite direction. The impact left Ms. Chinnicha severely injured. Rescue teams rushed her to Phimai Hospital, where medical staff made every effort to save her, but she unfortunately succumbed to her injuries shortly thereafter. At her family home in Nakhon Ratchasima, Ms. Chinnicha’s father, Mr. Samphao (surname withheld), expressed his deep sorrow over the loss of his daughter. He recounted that she usually drove her car to work, about 7-8 kilometres from home, but for unknown reasons, she had taken her motorcycle that day. Tragically, she was only 5 kilometres from home when the accident occurred. Mr. Samphao shared his anguish, stating, “I feel devastated and cannot come to terms with this. The incident happened so quickly.” He also mentioned that his daughter was married and had an 8-year-old daughter. He is calling for the cow’s owner and the driver of the car to take responsibility and assist his family during this difficult time. -- 2024-10-06 -

For some reason I have GOOGLE AUTHENTICATOR app installed on my phone. I may have had a similar problem. So I would download and install this app,attempt to login to your account,you may be asked for your code or to open Authenticator. This might then display your code or create a new one. Good luck -

The victim, 40-year-old DJ Wanida Thongyod, was a popular host on a community radio station and a TikTok personality with a large following in the area. The incident occurred on October 3 at a laundromat in Saphan Mai Kaen, where the suspect, identified as Ms. Pornpimon “Nee” Sawatroj, confronted the DJ over a longstanding debt issue. Armed with a .38 revolver, Ms. Pornpimon fired multiple shots at the victim, striking her in the back of the head. After the shooting, the suspect took the wounded DJ to the hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries. According to police reports, the dispute revolved around a 200,000-baht loan, which Ms. Pornpimon claimed had gone unpaid. DJ Wanida had guaranteed the loan for a friend, a local teacher, but despite numerous attempts to settle the debt, the matter remained unresolved. On the day of the shooting, tensions escalated, leading to the fatal altercation. Eyewitnesses described hearing three gunshots followed by screams. Ms. Pornpimon was seen conversing with her daughter outside the laundromat before her son-in-law, a police officer, arrived to assist her. Upon realising the gravity of the situation, the officer helped transport the wounded DJ to the hospital. Surveillance footage from nearby cameras captured the incident. DJ Wanida’s sister, Ms. Khwanrudee Thongyod, expressed shock and sadness, stating that her sister had always treated Ms. Pornpimon as a maternal figure. The two women had been close, and Ms. Pornpimon had been a strong supporter of Wanida’s online presence, often referred to as a “fan mother” for her role in encouraging the DJ’s success on TikTok. Despite their previous close relationship, the debt dispute proved too much, ultimately leading to the tragic shooting. Ms. Pornpimon later surrendered herself to local authorities, admitting to the crime and claiming she acted out of anger over the unpaid loan. She now faces charges of premeditated murder and illegal possession of a firearm. You seem to think that the Thai tax issues affect only wealthy individuals and ignore the vulnerable, average and aged expat pensioner retiree who has no experience of managing or filing tax returns. My interest lies in trying to help the average and below average member, many of whom are deeply scared and confused by all things foreign tax related. My past tax, finance and Big 4 work experience, combined with the fact I have lived in Thailand full time for over 20 years, may be of help to some of that group. Those things are why I mostly ignore the never ending debates about CRS and foreign DTA's. I have no interest in the tax affairs of people like you and others who talk in terms of buying 1,000 Apple and being concerned at the tax implications when you sell, or the large dividend payments given to you by your parents. If you can afford to buy 1,000 Apple you can also afford to put your hand in your pocket and spend 20k at Ernst and Young and get the best Thai tax advice that money can buy. So exactly why you even bother to log onto this thread, especially given that you live full time over 8,500 kms away. is extraordinary, to say the least! If there are members of AN who risk millions in tax as a result of CRS, they must be some of the cheapest rich people on the planet, in order to have such wealth yet seek tax advice from a social networking forum! I am personally aware of at least two AN members who talked in terms of self harm and required support and intervention, such was their fear of what might happen to their paltry income in retirement here as a result of the tax changes. Meanwhile, you talk about the millions at risk overseas by wealthy expat, dear Lord, we're not even on the same planet, let alone the same subject. I will be very happy if you wish to add me to your ignore list, that way my contributions won't interfere with your enjoyment. -

Ok, so where would you rather live? I had some very good friends, both passed on, but who were staunch communists. You know, defend Stalin, lovely eastern Europe full of happy people etc etc. Famine, what famine? But would they go anywhere near the Soviet Union, or latterly, Russia? Absolutely not! Because they were old school, they saw the world through a purely ideological perspective. It didn't matter what the Soviets did, it could only be for the common good. I find this completely duplicitous and delusional. I don't think you can compare Putin's extremely repressive policies against journalists, indeed, against all Russian citizens, with anything in the West. He started a war (yes, he did) which every Russian I've met in Pattaya, and there are a lot, absolutely hates. Many are in Pattaya for that very reason. And it's a war against his own ethnic group, while claiming a sort of holy war against Kiev's Nazis who would prevent Russians from speaking Russian. Hitlerian, to be sure, casting Ukrainians as the untermensch from which oh so racially pure Slavic Russia needs to cleanse itself. Only one link this time, as I concede most reports on the war are heavily biased one way or another. It's impossible to tell fact from fiction. It's also impossible to tell the exact state of the Russian economy, support for the war, or support for Putin, as nobody dares to say a damn' word in public for fear of arrest. This is his MO.
