Rain again.

Featured Replies

That was a crazy storm that just rolled through Kamala. Some close lighting strikes too. Knocked power out on the beach road.

Powers still out up near layan / laguna. Was the biggest lightning and rain storm we've had in a while.

Kamala main road to the beach got wet. East dry, but a spectacular light show.

Lots of thunder and lightning in our part of Chalong but no rain as yet.

Got a little shower in south Rawai.

Lov'n this thunder, dogs hates it though and some rain would be nice.

Big and loud last night. Knocked out TOT

Same fore Krabi. months dry and hot, now the rain has kicked in, yet in small amounts, less then other years !

The wind direction hasn't changed, yet.

This is typical weather on the cusp between the monsoons. Lots of electrical storms and not much rain.

Yes, the wind direction has not yet cahnged, seems a bit late this year, wind should be coming from the West by the end of April.

Over in Kata last night much lightening, and a smattering of rain.

Had some pretty good rain last night for about 5 minutes in south Rawai.

There is a definite change in the wind trends now, aircraft are taking off and landing in a westerly direction today. Though the weather is quite benign, and as mentioned above is in a transitional stage.

windguru is expecting more rain today and tomorrow. last night was pretty lame at my house, barely got the surface wet.

Could do with one of those measuring sticks they use to calculate depth of snow or tide. The lake appears to be a bit bigger. Risen a few cms. The monitor lizard swims on unconcerned.

Good garden watering type shower here last night, not big but enough.

......and in another five months, someone will start a thread moaning about the rain and wishing for the dry season with sun and blue skies.

windguru keeps showing rain but all i see is blue sky

Those of us who have lived here for a longer time should never believe longer term weather forecasts.

Just enough to mess up the nice even coat of dust on the car.

Just enough rain in Patong to make my pick-up slither to a halt going up Hasip Pee road at the southern end.

The very steep initial bit was OK, but when I got to the long straight uphill bit, I slowed down gradually, got into second gear and then couldn't get any traction - not moving, rear wheels spinning, slipping backwards. Scary! ohmy.png

Thought I might have to reverse back and do a 3-point turn and go up the north end of Hasip Pee.

So I put it in first gear, handbrake full on, engine revving, slipping the clutch and slowly let out the handbrake and increasing the clutch until it started crawling up the hill. Then it started slipping again and going backwards. Quite worrying for a while. Repeated the above and got it to creep forwards and slowly pick up speed.

Note to self: get new tyres. Or new pickup with 4-wheel drive.
