Making a return trip to Chaing Mai looking for a good

music venue along the river, any suggestions such as

The Riverside, The Good View, The Brassiere, or

The Cottage which all get mentions in local guides.

bad timing dick. river almost overflowing. lucky it stopped raining today though. all the restaurants you mentioned have mentiones in local guides. good music, id have to say good view.

If you like traditional instrumental Thai music and Thai food, I would highly recommend a place called Tah Naam, at 43/3 Moo 2, T. Phardad. Phone is 053-282-988. The music, food, atmosphere, service and view were all splendid the night I was there.

I may not have the spelling of the name right, but to give you an idea where the restaurant is, if you take the road that runs through the Night Bazaar down to the Superhighway, the restaurant is on the left hand side of the road just past the first (and only) sharp -- well, fairly sharp for that stretch of road, which is mostly very straight -- right in the road, probably less than a kilometer before you hit the Superhighway.
