Howdoo chaps,

I'm wanting to buy an LED sign , you see them around CM "coffee" "massage" etc

The rectangular ones that simply hang up , say 12"x8"

Anyone know where to buy them , I've looked at the small stall at the back entrance of KSK but only "open " and "welcome" signs

I'm specially after a "nails open" LED sign

Thanks in advance

There is a lighted-sign store on the southwest quadrant of the Ping River and Highway 11 (the Super Highway). The streetview link shows the location, even though the business was not there when the Google photo was taken.

Ok lets get my personal comment out of the way.........

......they are tacky and cheap and they infer the same with whatever business they are associated.

Now your answer;

Suthep road opposite the mcDees/scb bank there is a small shop that does the Green bus tickets as a sideline.

They make those LED flashing neon pieces of rubbish.

Outside they have examples:

"Jezza loves Porn"....as we all do

"Liverpool for ever".....which is ridiculous

And there is Pacman eating his way through another sign.

Helpful? Actually I think so.

Quite so, "eyecatcher",

Nice to discover there are still a few discerning souls on this earth, who detest the tawdry junk that is purveyed to the lesser types living amongst us.

Now, do yews rekon, I mite find one of theese Illuminus signs that sez, "........." aw Geez, I goot'a go ask th Missuz ow to spell it. Allwaz like too be Korrekt.

I've noticed a place whilst going to Tesco on the Superhighway, going clockwise well after Central Festival and not far before Tesco. Sorry, my sense of direction is about as good as my giving of them. I don't know how to give a direct link from Google Maps, but the GPS 18.809850, 99.002640. Maybe this will work. Hope this helps.

Also a small shop near where Kuay Chiang Mai restaurant use to be sells them for 350 baht.

That link didn't work, but I tried this in a different browser and it seemed OK, although I'm logged into my google account so it may just be that.

There are many direction-challenged amongst us. I remember when the Western Ring Road opened in Melbourne 15 or more years ago that the traffic reports on the radio were saying congestion or accident at so-and-so heading eastbound/westbound. Only took a week or so for all the radio stations to have changed the wording to inbound/outbound or clockwise/anticlockwise and as of a couple of months ago they still do. (I just noticed that I said clockwise in my directions, that should have been anticlockwise.)

All of my directions have to be relative to the moat, with Chan Puak, Tai Pae, Chiang Mai Gate and Suan Dock being 12, 3,6 and 9 o'clock respectively - it's a system that works so I'm not going to change it and I recommend it to anyone new to the city. For a lot of tourists it makes a lot of sense because they are looking at a map.

And for those who laugh, I can do complex calculus in my head and write half a dozen computer languages well enough to be paid 6 figures and another dozen or so passably. I just can't do directions. (Or languages, for some reason.) If you can do all of those things, you have my blessing to go ahead and call me dumb. giggle.gif
