Just looking for a bit of help regarding my wife's upcoming FLR application...

Is her Esol / bulats entry level A1 certificate acceptable as proof of her English language...I'd hope so as it was good enough for her initial settlement visa application in 2012.

Yes I think it is still acceptable. Please see my post in "A1 Trinity College English - Failed" started by Magicroundabout a couple of days ago.

Are you certain?

My only concern is that if you're not sure of your guidance then you may inadvertently mislead the OP. It could potentially cost him big bucks if you're not on the button.

Please clarify your certainty to the OP and others viewing.

Many thanks.

Please see what I said in the other topic about Trinity.

I am not absolutely sure about this and I make that clear in that topic. However it is the best advice I can give. Unfortunately no one has posted about their experience with applying for FLR with BULAT's certs since January 2015. Until that happens then it is very difficult to know for sure. Even then, with all these rule changes one wonders if the Home Office people dealing with applications are up to speed with all the rules. When I make my wife's application for FLR later this year I will be making strong reference to s.32D.

Just been to Solihull for a FLR(M) application and my wife was successfully granted a further leave of 30 months.

I was armed with a copy of section 32d but it wasnt needed. We included her Cambridge bulats English test certificate. No problems or anything mentioned by the official at all.

Happy we got the visa just a bit gutted I got stung £1550 in total for the application and NHS Surcharge.

Congrats ironryon. Also thanks for posting your experience as you are the first person I have heard confirm that Bulats test certs are still acceptable for FLR. This is really good news for everyone here in the uk whose has a Bulats pass from Thailand. I wonder if TOEIC is still acceptable?

Well done ironryon. A costly process indeed but will be a large weight lifted I'm sure. Thanks for posting about the BULATS acceptance. Hopefully nothing changes between now and November when my wife applies for her FLR.

Hi

Glad to pay back to everyone...I wouldn't have been able to make the application so well without the help from people on here.

Good luck with your applications....section 32d was the key to the English Test part.
