Where To Register AIS SIM card in Phuket

Featured Replies

Where can an AiS SIM card be registered in Phuket?

Preferably not at the AIS office in Phukettown.

Thanks

Thanks for info. Not sure what a modern shop is.

Do you think registration can be done at the Tesco Lotus on Chao Fa West in Chalong?

Or only at the large Tesco and Big C stores in Phukettown?

Wondering about the enforcement of this rule, what would the consequences be if you fail to register an old SIM card?

Yes I did. At AIS shop in Lotus Thalang complex.

Easy Peasy

AIS Jungceylon Patong upper floor.

Check with *151#.. Answer maybe in Thai.

Guess I'll try Lotus in Chalong. If no go there, I'll go to Big C.

I think there is a PC and Internet in either place ie: modern

You need to show them your original passport.

If you go to Big C you might as well goto Telewiz/AIS in the basement.

If your going there better to go to the Telewiz shop near the entrance to the supermarket.

If you have n online account does this mean your automatically registered ?

No problem AIS Chumphon. Call 1175 to confirm it is registered.

Be careful with your SIM cards and try to never lose them.

It's now law if you lose your SIM card you have to go to the police station and make a police report and bring it to AIS if you want them to replace the lost card.

What a f@#king hassle.

If you live in Thailand permanently, it is better to have a non prepaid SIM anyway. Suits me perfectly to get billed by the month, can pay between the 15th and the 29th.

Why is that better? I have 2 prepaid, changed for 1 of those from subscription about 6 years ago, and am perfectly happy with that.

I too have an old prepaid SIM that I have not registered yet and will just wait and see.

But true is that if you buy a new SIM, you cannot activate it until you have registered it.

or you ask someone on the streets to do it for you for 100 Baht ;-)
