FGS boss Evgeny Murov.

PHUKET: -- Bangkok is one of the most attractive destinations for Russia’s presidential bodyguards, according to research by a Phuket-based website.

The Thai capital ranked third on the list of destinations preferred by members of the Russia’s top secret service officers – the Federal Guard Service (FGS).

The FGS is a government agency protecting the President of Russia, high-ranking state officials, and certain federal properties – the equivalent of the US Federal Protective Service.

According to research conducted by Phuket-based flight search engine Jetradar/Avisales, Bangkok is surpassed only by Russia’s “domestic” destinations Sochi and Crimea (until recently part of Ukraine).

The research was based on an analysis of search requests coming from the IP addresses of Russia’s main state agencies and presented here as a "fun" quiz.

It is not clear from the research whether the presidential bodyguards are coming to Bangkok escorting high-ranking government officials, or coming for holidays themselves.

I guess they don't have a preference for Colombian hoes like their US counterparts ;)

On the job training. Kid.

Maybe Phuket News makes for nice reading to relax a bit, but the word "news" in its name seems to be misleading. Phuket Tidbits?

Great news story. I feel like I've really learned something useful. I must remember to pass this on to my friends just in case they missed it.

Well the article was written by "Anton Makhrov," so he may assume anything to do with Mother Russia is of vital interest to everyone.

Can you get any more esoteric and irrelevant?

... hardly! Dammit, read that steaming shirt a 3 times thinking i would be missing something ... like significance, the meaning exactly.

Just glad i'm not the only one ...

I am quite sure the Russian secret service would be happy to hear how this information was obtained , however I have heard from irrelevant sources that the G men from the US presidential escort prefer Hong Kong , Singapore , Sydney, Auckland or Madrid and Iceland for the winter northern lights, now beat that, just ask the new US Ambassador he will back me up.coffee1.gifcheesy.gif
