Hi,

I have a large head (laugh.png) and none of the helmets for sale in Tesco fit me. I was wondering if anyone knows of a specialized store that sells a bigger range. Last time I was in Phuket I found a place, but obviously that's not an option right now.

Open face would be perfect

Thank you

None of the helmets in Tesco would do much good even if they did fit you...

Get a proper helmet, approx 1500 baht will get you the minimum protection level that I would consider for a scooter.

I'm sure a Samui resident will be along soon and tell you where, otherwise plenty good bike shops in Surat.

Ohm rental at the ring road, at the Chaweng Noi intersection, have 'egg shell' like helmets at around 1,500.-THB, good quality, currently in size M and L

May be hard to find someone to serve you tho

You can occasionally find one big enough in Big C or Tesco bit it's very hit and miss. Lazada (sponsors of this site) stock helmets therefore might be worth a try.

Try the Kawasaki dealer near Saket between Huathanon and Nathon. They stock "Real" helmets which are reasonably priced and decent quality and safety rating.

I had to pick up one recently for one of our big headed members on KP!

I bought an XXL from there a few years back. Real brand with 2 visors. Approx 4,000 baht

Thank you for the advice and replies. Will see if I can pick one up!

On another note I saw a Western woman this morning carrying her infant child in one of those ridiculous frontal body straps (neither wearing any helmets or clothing protection). Also saw a Western father riding with his 2 children, again zero helmets between any of them.

What goes through these people's minds is beyond me
