I am afraid I am a bit hard on my vehicles. As a contract tiler I often used my cars like pick-ups when my crew had the work ute somewhere else!

The best car I owned for carrying a load was a Volvo 760. it was good for 50+ boxes of 12x12 tiles 3 or 4 20L glue buckets and a few bags of grout.....but the V6 engine sucked the fuel down like a jumbo jet!

Next best was a 66 Chevy Impala early in my tiling career.

I broke an Alfa Romeo GTV....Oops! Same for a Holden Monaro...but I had 3 others that didn't break!

Utes were mostly Holden, with a few Fords, one Valiant and a Nissan. Now got a Mitsubishi.

they don't make 'em like that any more... Never had (probably will never have) the pleasure of having one... I love some of the older cars.

There are A few companies that are starting to do this sort of thing.Might work for A business owner or maybe A CEO of A company. But at

The price tag the average person won't be able to afford it.

My old Love from T.A.s Pontiac era was a BMW Coupe 3.0 Litre Alpina. No Pics but like this one from images.

The 1970s BMW coupe 3.o csl was and is a very classy car. Fantastic engine

When living in Hannover in the 70s I started with a 1602, then 2002,after that I had a 2002 turbo ( always probs. ) finished with a 633, more or less the same

engine as the 3.o csl all great fun,

I had a test drive in the M1 in Braunschweig It had the same engine as the 633 but the gear-box was mounted at the rear end. it is a mid engine

car. They wanted 100,000 DM new. The following week i brought a 308 GT4 Ferrari from Becker in Dusseldorf cost new in 1978 53,000 DM

The 308 was the best of all. First mid engine V8 from ferrari, 236 PS (horse power ) For the day very quick. I will say the best and most releiable sports

car Ever.. Design Bertoni

M1 BMW 100,000 DM 1978

ever since the automobile was invented there have ben efforts to make a "flying car" - but apart from the odd example we don't have them...why?

because ....

firstly there is no need.

secondly it's completely impractical (imagine several thousand flying cars commuting in Bkk!!)

...and thirdly the two technologies are mutually exclusive.

This car came out some time ago, but imagine getting a ding while driving too, you'd to have a complete comprehensive inspection before flying again, and I imagine anything that looks even remotely like damage needs to be expensively repaired, doubt it'd be any time before several thousand people anywhere all have the money and the pilots training to fly these, so not in our lifetime and then after likely the training (like car driving) would be in place. [but] having said that, look how much damage is done now in cars, so having planes falling out of the sky constantly would be a far greater issue. This is really the only good reasoning I can see for the proximity detectors that are now coming into the fore for drivers though some on the ground need them in the worst way too, it is more likely a test bed for future flying traffic where it would be more then just an aid, it'd be absolutely necessary.

Edit: blink.png Did I post on the wrong thread? What happened to the OP discussion about a flying car? On second look, I see where it all went off topic, (DELETED)

how many pics of your long lost ride do we need to see though......

Notice no italics this time (means iam not taking the piss), My current ride is a Vigo, what is yours ?

I too now have a Vigo...Suits my needs here.......BUT, seems you have a problem about me talking about my 20 odd year love affair with Mrs.Pontiac and me talking about it.

Sorry it upsets you, but feel free to tell us about YOUR lost motoring loves here...thumbsup.gif

We listen........It's our motoring forum...........smile.png

I parted with my fully restored 91 Jaguar XLS V12 Convertible Classic when I moved to Thailand. I remember it fondly but I never regret it, Now my 12 year old POS Chevy Colorado does just fine on these potholed roads. I don't need to go 150mph+ anyways (or so I keep telling myself).
