Any welcoming inns in Chom Thong and Hot?

I have to spend a bit of time on and off in Chom Thong and Hot over the next few weeks. Are there any bars in those towns where I can retire to for a friendly beer or a bit of lunch?

Thanks for the warning. It looks like in for a pretty lonely time there if there are no farang bars.

Maybe a good opportunity for those hopefuls wishing to open a bar in the over crowded Chiang Mai bar scene. Seems as there would be no competition there.

Only Farangs around are the ones at the Buddhist Seminary....Not western style eaters & not much of a good time fun group.....unless you like to chant - hamanamumhamanamum then repeat......then repeat.....

Inthanon Golf Course with food and drink is 10 minutes north of Chom Thong. Turn right going north at the traffic signal for Rte 1010.

I have only seen one farang in Chom Thong and he was leading a team of marching girls down the main street during a parade. Amazing sight. Jing jing.

So I guess I'll have to keep an eye out for marching girls and follow them to find where THE farang hangs out.

I was in Hot recently, and while there took a photo from the centre of town during the rush hour:

Thanks Beetleljuice at least I'll know where to stay.

It looks like a glass of lao khao and off to bed with a book for me in the evenings.

I THINK I spotted a place by the name of SMILE HOTEL or similar, on your left by some lights as you approach Chom Tom market place from CM. Had a sign saying "rooms by the hour", could be the place your looking for , 555.
