my health insurance sent me a letter to say they pay back pap smear, so I think to talk about it with my girlfriend

I have seen on this forum that people say it can be done easily in any local hospital : is it true ? I am not sure it's so common in Thailand, people are modest and not so aware of this sort of prevention

any way, if not in local hospital , where ( for instance, Bangkok or Hua hin ) can it be done ? how much is it ?

in thai, google says it's ( in phonetic ) " trouat pap smear ) : correct ?

The biggest problem will be to convince my GF

Is the "girlfriend" covered by your health insurance ?

As a Thai she can ask for a simple gynecological check up at her local clinic /hospital . It is free !

If you are male I doubt your insurance will cover the cost of "Pap smears " or any other gynaecological investigation/treatment !

It's a French health insurance, only for French people abroad ( CFE, Caisse des Français de l'étranger ), and they cover free my girlfriend for everything , even if she is not married with me ( but I am not sure they cover everything at the same percentage than me , they have already paid for dentist, about 25 % , and doctor more than 50 %)

they sent the letter to my name and inside it was her name, they know she is my girlfriend and they say they cover 100% for her

Pap smear at smallish private hospital about 900Baht

Most expensive is eg Samitivej, about 2500 baht

Pap smear is widely available and Thai women know about it ( which does not mean they do it)

If gf is shy or reluctant to see a gynecologist try Dr Siranaat at Samitivej Hospital. She is very nice to her patients and they like her.
