Opening Business In UK, would like information please

Featured Replies

Hey i am Thai and going to be moving to the UK to study and was looking to open a Thai Massage Shop does anyone know requirements needed in the UK to register a business? Anyone who can help me out with more info will be very grateful. Thx in advance..

If you are going to the UK to study with a Tier 4 (General) study visa, although in some circumstances you may be able to work for up to 20 hours a week, I think what you propose is against the terms of your visa and so would be illegal.

If you want to open a business in the UK you will need a Tier 1 (Entrepreneur) visa.

Without going in to great detail you face major hurdles trying to open a business while in the UK on a student visa.

Self employment is not allowed and It could be argued that your primary purpose is not study if you are running a business.

You will need £50,000 minimum plus satisfy many other conditions for a Tier 1 visa.

see https://www.gov.uk/tier-1-entrepreneur/eligibility

Students doe not qualify for this visa.

Unlike Thailand where one can rent a shop and open days later there is a lot of paperwork involved in trading in the UK.
