PHUKET: -- Immigration police arrested a Malaysian woman at Phuket International Airport last night (May 27) for using fake credit cards to fund a shopping spree on the island.

Khoo Ping Sze, 20, was taken into custody in the international departure lounge while she was waiting to board a 9:40pm AirAsia flight to Kuala Lumpur.

Officers found 17 fake Visa and Mastercard credit cards, all issued in her name, in her purse, and seized her boarding pass and passport.

“Staff at Kasikornbank (KBank) informed police that someone used a fake credit card to pay for an airline ticket at a counter in Patong yesterday evening,” Col Prawit Aengchuan, deputy superintendent of Phuket Immigration Police, announced today (May 28).

Khoo Ping sourced the fake cards from a “friend” in Malaysia, he explained.

“She said that her friend created the fake cards and put her name on them, then sent her on a shopping trip to neighbouring countries,” he added.

Khoo Ping used the fake credit cards to buy brand-name items in Vietnam and send them to Malaysia before coming to Phuket, where she continued her fake card shopping spree.

Khoo Ping was charged with possessing and using fake credit cards and is being held at the Tha Chat Chai police station.

Her arrest follows that of an Malaysian man who last month was also taken into custody at the airport for using fake credit cards.

Lock her up for a long time and add another 5 years for her stupidity for booking a ticket on a fake credit card.

If she had used cash to buy the return ticket, she would have gotten clean away but I guess that would have been against her principles.

Why would anyone wear a stocking hat in Thailand?

How do you tell the difference between Thai police and Thai thugs? You can't.

Why would anyone wear a stocking hat in Thailand?

Wow...she even had an AMEX Centurion black card in the mix. Not only a crook, but a status-conscious crook as well!
