has any non EU member obtained schengen visa for thai gf

Featured Replies

Apologizes as I have asked this in previous OP.

Had some good help from folk like Donutz and others. Thank you. Have decided to try and assist the gf with travelling to Europe with me. So here is my question.

Has anyone not from an EU country done what I'm planning. Last topic sort of went sideways on a members dealings with German consulate.

I know that basic facts of how to apply. What a want if possible is someone's personal experience in what they did. Fortunately I have been living with the gf for 3 years and would have all the travel stuff like plane tickets accomm etc. Hope someone out there has been through it and could possible suggest a favourable country as the first or main destination. Thankyou

Well it's official...no one from country like AU or USA etc has taken a thai gf to Europe using Schengen visa. Surprised!

If no one from those countries happens to read this topic or feels bothered to post I'd just take the general Schengen experience into account (they haven't all been EU/EEA spouse visas but also of European member applying under the regular rules) and start your applicantion. My impression remains that if you are still undecided about where to start your tour from, and don't have a clear main destination, it might be good to apply via the Dutch embassy.

Not any that read this forum, anyway!

I'm an EEA (British) national so my experience wont help you, but if your girlfriend meets the requirements there should not be a problem.

I assume you have read Donutz's excellent pinned topic.

Yes boys...my second post prob sounded like a dummy spit. I guess my thinking is there are so many non EU and brit nationals living in LOS that there would be plenty having first hand experience. I have walked a couple of AU nationals through obtaining au tourist visa for thai gf.

I so appreciate the help from Donutz and Sandy and theoldgit and many others. Thanks for taking the time. Its

TV members like this that have made me decide to give it a crack. Going for a modest trip for first time...about a month, there abouts. Figure we do follow visa rules and the next application might be more extended stay

Intend to go full hog and include as much material as possible.

One way or other I will post a full report when all done and dusted.
