Good locations for a small club/meetup group

Featured Replies

I'm looking for a good central location for a Toastmasters club meet up (Toastmasters is a good place to practice public speaking, confidence building, and leadership training) in Pattaya. The type of venue is important: better venues tend to produce better clubs with more quality members. I'm looking to seat a maximum of 30 to 35, more likely 15 to 20. The venue should be centrally located for easy access across town.

Hotels and colleges are one option. Restaurants with large private dining rooms are another interesting option (sometimes they'll offer their room for free with a meal).

Thanks for any recommendations!

Think you have answered your own question - hotels are the obvious choice

Not true for the reasons mentioned. I am looking for specific suggestions, if anyone else has had a good experience renting out similar venues.

Typically Toastmasters meetings are held in a room. Some clubs use microphones and have projectors on standby for slide based presentations. This is especially true for clubs that meet in a hotel or university room, they tend to setup in a seminar/conference style.

Other clubs, like those in restaurants, stay more informal with a lectern or podium at the head of the table and speakers taking turns as attendees dine.

Set it as a leadership task for someone in your group to find a venue rather than passing it on to TV members?wai2.gif

I see no issue with soliciting recommendations. This is not a "one or the other" situation.

Please post if and when it happens and details.

Sounds constructive and social.
