Thinking of bringing your Thai wife, husband, fiance or de facto partner to Australia?

Subclass 300 (Prospective Marriage), and Subclass 100/309 (offshore Partner) visa application fees will increase from 1st July 2015.
Primary applicant application fees will increase from $4630 AUD to $6865 AUD.
Secondary applicant (aged 18+) application fees will increase from $2320 AUD to $3435 AUD.
Secondary applicant (aged under 18) application fees will increase from $1155 AUD to $1720 AUD.

That's at least a $2,235 AUD increase.

Ah, the price of love.

The price of the visa is just the start smile.png

What does that mean exactly?

Its been going up for years.

Oh you mean it's nothing the cost because they can work and get Medicare? True.

Just a joke. Lighten up smile.png

Importing my Thai GF to Oz was worth it to me, but the I've certainly spent a lot more money than the price of the visa.

In addition to the right to work and Medicare, they also get 500 hours of free English lessons, so the visa is not bad value at all in the scheme of things.

along with the 500 hours of free english lessons you also get free child care.I have 2 kids under 5 so the free child care comes in pretty useful Edited by woody087

And the quota is only about 1280 as well, with even slower processing times, with most being applied offshore, thats about $2mil AUD extra for the Oz govt just from Thai applications
