Buying a Kindle wall charger in Thailand for Kindle Paperwhite

Featured Replies

I have a Kindle Paperwhite and will be traveling so can't charge it through my computer so I need a wall charger. The guys at work suggest that any USB type charger should work--can even get them at 7/11. But I am wary and worried about the correct electric current. Any suggestions?

Listen to the guys at work. The micro-USB charger I use for my smartphone and tablet works with my Kindle Paperwhite in Thailand.

I've used my wall charger on my Paperwhite for two and a half years with no problems.

I sometimes use my iPhone wall charger from the uk with a UK-Thai adaptor, and vice versa, the Kindle one for my iPhone, iPad, depending on whichever is to hand.

To date, every USB wall socket adapter I've seen is multi-voltage. Have a look at the specs.

Pay attention to the amperage, try to find an adapter that draws the same current as the original.

Not sure what you are worried about. Any micro USB as previously stated will work to charge the kindle. God knows I use multiple chargers, since they all seem to have a way of disappearing into my son's bedroom never to see the light of day again.

If you are worried about the input(line voltage) voltage, just check on the box it's rated 110-240V input

Same here...

I charge my Kindle Paperwhite from any micro-usb charger. No problem
