Skytrain Extension

After spending 2-3 hours a day in a minivan, bus or taxi between Mo Chit and Saphan Mai (where I have the fortune to live), I was incerdibly please to hear that the BTS is going to be extended out there.

According to the Taxi cab driver, the government announced that they are going to knock down the overpass at Kaset, and extend the BTS to run from Mo Chit,

to Central Lad Phrao, Ratchayothin, run through Kaset, Sri Patum, Bang Bua,

Lak Si Temple (where the roundabout for Ram Inthra is) Lotus, Big C Saphan Mai,

and ending at Puviphon Hospital. BTS stations will be built next to MRT ones

so that people can really get around the city. In three years time, it will take less than one hour to go from Saphan Mai to Sukhumvit no matter what the rush hour brings.

Points to discuss..

1. I hope they increase the frequency of the trains, because thousands more people will want to use it!!!!

2. Developers already building huge housing projects in Rangsit, and so,

the more mass transit trains the better.

3. The value of houses in the area go up, so get buying folks.

4. Bangkok is upgrading into a modern metropolis with mass transit, we are

going to see a lot of modernisation in many ways, and a lot of business improvement for everyone. We just have to wait for the old guard in the government to go, and look forward to a new generation of clean politicians, and a prosperous and rich middle class. Sooner rather than later Bangkok will become a 'first world' developed city.

What do ya reckon..

Same.
