Us Embassy Processing Times

Hi,

Does anyone know what the processing times are for the US Embassy to do fiancee visas (I-129F). My petition was approved and it's currently being sent over to the US embassy in Bangkok.

I went to the US embassy Thailand website and it says that they are taking from 10-12 weeks to schedule an interview (after the first packet has been returned). From reading other sites, they are saying 2-4 weeks. So I have no idea what to believe.

Does anyone have any insight as to how long the US embassy actually takes to schedule the interview?

Hello Senator,

I am just starting this process myself and wish to know how long it took for your petition to be approved. When doing research I came up with the same information as you as far as processing times. It is probably a moving target, but some current expectation regarding time would be nice.

The petition approval process is varied depending on which USCIS Service Center you use. The California Service Center is by far the worse in terms of backlog for the I-129F petitions. Nebraska and Texas are quite bad too. The Vermont center is probably the best one processing those types of petitions.

Just to give you an idea, I submitted my petition early Sept. 2003 and it finally got approved end of March, 2004, a total of 8 whopping months. This was through the CA service center.

Recent report card reports for INS services show that backlog and processing times are at an all time high ever since it was taken over by Homeland Security and changed it's name to USCIS.

Hi Senator

Sorry I don't have answers but rather more questions: How long did it take to get your receipt after filing the I-130 petition for alien relative? I'm about to send that out and I'm trying to figure out what kind of wait there will be. I have to go though the Nebraska center. Also, what was the wait time listed on the receipt?
