Effect Of The Coup On Closing Times Of Nightlife Venues

Featured Replies

Am I the only one who thinks that many nightlife venues will be open till much later times (3-4 maybe) due to the coup (until at least next October's elections) ? Because let's face it....yes, a civilian prime minister will be appointed soon but the military folks will be the actual rulers until October, 2007.

Anyway, two reasons :

1. Thaksin's 'social-order-loving' government's gone.

2. It is known that many nightlife venues in Thailand are owned by military folks. And, now that the military's in control, I feel that the chances are high that such places will stay open till much later than 2 am. After all, I doubt that now the police will be able to order a military guy to close his place at 2 am.

What do you folks think ?

Cheers,

Jem

Well things normally don't close til last customer leaves - apart from turning off music and dimming lights. :o

First to fight, second to none, if the Royal Thai Army, can't do it.. It can't be done...
