Thailand tourist arrivals in July up nearly 40 pct on year

Featured Replies

Wonder how many will end up, robbed, beaten, raped, murdered, extorted, smacked with a garden hoe, that sort of daily occurance.

Tune in to TV next month for a report.

Sry I forgot to mention stabbed, shot and thrown of a high rise.

not much chance of that from most of those new tourists, the worst they probably encounter is a sprained ankle getting on and off the tour bus at the

shop/restaurant/pier/shop/market/restaurant/shop/airport departure. although i did see 1 take a swipe from the head honchos flag 1 day.......dangerous stuff....

Hmm how about this math? Let's say year before last was 100, then last year dropped to 50. A boost of 40% this year would bring it up to 70, which is still 30 less than previously.... think I'll go drown myself in lake with average depth of 6".

Hehehe! :-0

Be careful you don't get hit by a submarine in a lake that deep.

Moot point but would you actually believe any statistic released by any Thai government ministry ever? So comparing one probably made up figure with a previous probably made up figure produces a figure which can always be adjusted and made up if required anyway. blink.png

Don't worry, there's lots on TV who'll make up for it. Believe anything they say. Drink it right down...

clap2.gifclap2.gifclap2.gif yeah right ... Lets see the statistics then ... Thailand is an extremely dangerous tourist destination compared to e.g. Spain and Greece ... I can only advice my Family and friends to stay away from here ...

20 million who spend 1000 baht per day is much better than 10million who averaged 3000 Baht per day, if my Thai-style maths is up to speed.

Well yes, of course it is, simply put, the source of supply of 3,000 baht per day visitors is very limited, whereas the supply of 1,000 baht per day is virtually unlimited. thumbsup.gif

A smart move I reckon albeit it wont sit well with many 'superior' farangs.
