Overcome Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 Thai friends are interested in having their 17 year old son spend a year studying in New Zealand - either 7th Form (Secondary school final year) or a University/Polytechnic Diploma course. Can anyone direct them to good quality, objective information about the options, costs, procedures etc ... ideally in Thai but we know it's more likely to find such information in English. Thanks - any advice or referral to information sources would be appreciated.
Roadman Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 http://www.nzqa.govt.nz/studying-in-new-zealand/ You will not find anything in thai on NZ sites Generally beyond the NZQA site you will need to go to individual schools.
dabhand Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 Some Thai friends of my son have been studying in NZ for the past couple of years. That would be in the age range of 14to16, so not sure of final year study options. Feedback I received via my son was that they have/are enjoying the experience - but they had been studying at an International School in Thailand prior to their transfer to NZ. Not sure if that fits your friend's son's profile. This was the school: http://www.cbhs.school.nz/ As they seem to have a number of Thai students the school may well have the ability to converse in Thai with parents - either direct from NZ or, possibly, a Thailand based agent.
