Lumia 1520 - Where to buy?

Featured Replies

Hey All,

I have big a fan of Lumia`s for sometime currently owning a 630... I wanted to upgrade as this although a great phone is pretty old and low spec, plus I want to get a 4G phone...

I am struggling to find anywhere which sells the Lumia 1520, does anyone know where to go to get one of these? should I be warey of fakes like you would the iphone etc?

I did find one guy selling one in a local phone shop yet he wanted 19,000 bhat for it... looking online you can buy them cheaper new in the UK for that, maybe becuase I am white and obviously a billionaire he gave me the falang price but I walked away. Anyone know a good place in BKK for specifically nokia phones?

Any of you guys have lumia`s? I find them great for connectivity and battery life, for example if I call home via skype... using my androind the call constantly drops, using my nokia its clear call with no drops, I think this is in part to do with windows owning skype and integrating it into the OS but also I think the lumia`s just have better hardware when it comes to antennas built in,

Thanks,

I have a Nokia 530 as a 2nd-3rd phone , but the lack of apps from Google make it hard to use as a first phone ,

"Here" GPS maps are great but are now on android too ,

Microsoft needs to have a way that Android apps also work on windows phones, I know that will not happen , especially now that they are dumping Nokia

I have a Microsoft Lumia 640LTE and for 5990 baht not a bad phone.

I found it in a TG Fone shop in Pattaya, they have many branches all over Thailand.

I read somewhere that Microsoft flopped on the Nokia deal and they are not gaining on Android but dropping in market shares which is not good.

I can't really make up my mind if this Windows system is good or not, well not so many apps as Android for sure but the phone is simple to use and do mostly what I want for a phone.

I am however considering buying the new IQ II that just launched here and is the first phone here with Android one, which should give you updates on the OP system without counting on manufacturers to launch them.

Another cheppo phone for 4400 baht, but since I once owned a Samsung Note1 that broke down after 1.5 years use, I will never again spend big bucks on a phone, never.

I keep my 640LTE

Hi mate, I personally would keep away from i mobiles... I have two her sat on my desk, IQ 9.1 and an IQ 9.2... the IQ 9.1 works sometimes but for some reason will power off for a week or so then come back to life, it has been in the phone shop and they do not know what to do with it... the IQ 9.2 is ok, but connection wise is kind of sucks... you really notice it when making skype calls and what not, I find them pretty cheap phones but granted they are good for the money... I have been through so many phones in the last few years and my nokia has always kept going with amazing battery life. Sure the app selection isnt massive but to be fair I have all the apps I need really,

Cant wait to get my hands on one, I am going to bangkok next week so hopefully I will find one in pantip and I will check out any TG Fone shops, thanks for that,

Cheers

One of the phone shops on the third floor of Central Festival Pattaya is still stocking Nokia/Microsoft smartphones.

You could check with MLink, I think they took over the local Nokia retail sales channel? It sort of looks like they never officially launched this model here?

Looks like you'll have to go grey-market, or self-import?

Some sellers on Lazada. http://www.lazada.co.th/shop-mobiles/?q=lumia+1520

Quite a few recent purchases reported on Thai social media at shops in MBK, 11,900 - 12,900. http://www.thaimobilecenter.com/spec/price_from_user_all.asp?id=3491

I wanted to get one last year, but when I got to MBK, I was surprised at what they tried to sell to me. They're used phones. What gave the first one away was the manual that wasn't in the box (I had a 920, so I knew what would be in there), and the second box was very old and when it was opened, the charger was missing. To cut a long story short, the seller finally agreed that they were all used phones.

If I were you, I'd order from abroad.
