English Option on Apple Store Thailand Website

Featured Replies

I ordered an iPhone 6 from the Apple Store Thailand in November and there was an option to switch to English on the site. Can't seem to find that option now. What am I missing?

I have my glasses on now, but still can't find the option.

At the very bottom of the apple.co.th page there is "for English" and a link: apple.com/service/asia or some such. Can't find apple store in English, yet.

I called Apple support, took the English option, was transferred to India, I think, and they told me they were "aware" of the site being Thai-only and suggested I follow any English Apple site for my product and then do the same on the Thai site. Don't know if this would work well for entering name and address and understanding country-specific options. Previously, 4 and 3 years ago, I ordered from the Singapore store and all went well, quickly too. Singapore doesn't handle Thai orders anymore, unfortunately.

Thats strange. I just ordered my Macbook off the Apple th site last week and it had Thai baht and English. Just checked now and its Thai language again.

It came from China anyway.

It might be worth mentioning here that the keyboards/keypads come in English only and English/Thai, so make sure you order the English-only keyboard/keypad if that is what you want. They might assume that someone ordering from Thailand requires the Thai keyboard/keypad.

No, they dont assume anything. You build your Mac to your specification including keyboard, processer, ram, storage etc.

(LOL could you have made the Mac keypad any bigger? - I couldn't quite make it out in your photo)

Yes, I had a look at the Apple store. With the highest specs the MacAir 13 inch comes to 60k.

Back in 2011, the Apple sellers in Thailand wanted to charge me around 3000 baht extra for an English keyboard.,.. and that was at more than one shop.

In the footer of the page, you can find "In English".

You can also fix the issue in the url:

http://www.apple.com/th/shop

just change the prefix from th to th-en

http://www.apple.com/th-en/shop

None of this is true.

Apple, in their infinite wisdom, have decided to remove English support from their Thailand online shop. I've written Tim Cook about it, we'll see if he responds.

Let's hope so. There are plenty of complaints about this on various forums.

Before someone pipes up about learning to read Thai, I can, but not everybody can. I'm stumped as to why Apple would remove this option unless they assume everyone living here is a Thai national.

Sadly the english option disappeared a while ago. Was looking for a while too but can't find it anymore either. Was like 'Vicio' said it or a similar link structure.

^ did they hide it or change it back as there were a fair few complaints on Apple forum?

I only stumbled across it by accident. I couldn't even tell you the path I followed to get there. The amazing thing is that in a world where English is the de facto common language, here is a country pulling back into its own little language ghetto.

The option for English has returned to the Apple Thailand website.

Open up the web page , scroll down to the bottom , and the " Shop in English " option is available.

Ha ha! Maybe when I tracked down the English page the other day and opened it, someone at Apple Thailand realised they actually have an English page! I like to think so anyway.
