Hi everyone.

I was wondering if anyone knew what the rate of tax duty is on beer in Thailand?

Not import duty, but beer brewed here in the kingdom. Is it the same as say the UK where the tax is based on the strength of the alcohol content? For example they charge a certain % of duty on every % of alcohol??

If nobody knows, who are the best people to ask here?

3 baht per litre per % of alcohol, so if it is 5% ABV the tax on it is 15 baht per litre.

That sounds very low to me....really true or are there other additional taxes?

Excise is the biggest. A few others are lower like the health tax. Check the net. Basically the same as imported minus import duty.

The term "duty" normally is used in connection with customs for imported items.
