How do u tell if a member here is banned?

I was reading the post of a forum member and below his posts there is a word banned.

Yet on the left where his profile is his nick is clickable and it doesn't say banned.

Does this forum follow the format of vbulletin where a member who is banned has the word banned below his nick.

Here's an example i am talking about

Moving this thread to Support, but the "Banned" below JHolmesJr's post is actually in his signature, no idea why he chose to use that but it's not a reflection on his status on the forum.
