Still waiting for news on my wife's UK settlement visa - 24 working days today and counting, so hopefully not to long now!

On the application, my wife put date of travel as 22/10, because she needs to work 4 weeks notice with Emirates in Bangkok (as hopefully she will re-start with them in Manchester, so it's important she leaves on good terms), and will also have a week or 2 with her parents up country prior to me coming back over to Thailand to accompany her to the UK.

My question is, if the visa decision is delayed, is there the possibility to change the dates of the 30 day validity on the issued visa, and how easy is it to do this? I want to make sure there is sufficient time to do all the necessary in the right way before travel.

I've looked in vain for the answer online, but not turned anything up.

As always, thanks in advance for any guidance.

Cheers.

We're still waiting for our decision, 31 working days at the moment. I'll post again when we get decision, which may give you an idea of when you will get yours. I believe you can pay a fee of around £200 to change the dates on the visa.

£200! Bloody hell, that's terrible. They really do know how to stitch people up. Thanks for the info.

NB. One of my wife's contacts received her visa yesterday, was 23 days I believe.
