Registration of half UK/Thai child

Question about registering our new born son in the UK. My thai wife and I married in the UK and now have a son...my wife has a 2 year 6 months leave to remain visa at the moment...her visa and passport both have her thai maiden name not her married name... (my surname ) so when registering our son...should she use her thai surname or my surname..we don't want to confuse things in the future when applying for his passports (dual nationally ) and her future visa's. Sorry for the confusing question. Cheers guys.

Your wife should also contact the Thai Embassy in relation to registering the birth with the Thai authorities and securing a Thai passport and birth certificate for the child.

A Thai passport can be applied for at the same time the birth is registered.

Spoke to immigration today....they said my wife's surname would be better to remain as her own, as per passport, ID and visa, just to avoid any problems in the future when applying for the next visa ect.
