Deputy PM Prawit: Police need time to delve into Ratchaprasong attack

BANGKOK, 16 September 2015 (NNT) - Deputy Prime Minister Gen. Prawit Wongsuwan has called on the public to give the police time to find out the truth behind the bombing at the Ratchaprasong junction. He confirmed no motive has yet to be ruled out.

The deputy premier on Wednesday spoke about the progress of the police’s investigation into the Ratchaprasong blast. He said the incident’s motive could be either politics, human trafficking or revenge.

When asked if the bombing was transnational crime, he said the police needed time to ascertain if the attack was related to foreign criminal networks.

As for the problem of human trafficking, the deputy PM stressed that the government was trying to preventing it in every way since the country was in a transition period and urged all sides to cooperate with the government.

Seems the panic button is about to be pressed!

With Prayuth soon to be attending the UN, I only hope for Thailand' sake, he has a good speech writer

The BIB certainly didn't need any time to pay themselves 3 million baht reward. Now they say they need time to work out what really happened and why. No way any fiction writer could think up such a plot. Somyot and his people are just unbelievable. If the BIB had a credit rating it would be waaaaay below junk status.

Oops,.... FACE OFF ph34r.pngph34r.png

At least wait until Somyot has fled to Poipet with his share of the smuggling ring's tea money. Just two more weeks is all RTP need to install their new chief for hire. The succession of police chiefs is a perpetual feeding trough.

They are obviously trying to deflect this from being tied to the deportation of the Chinese by the unelected PM, against international precedent and raising the eyebrows and wrath of multiple human rights organizations. Obviously being a General you don't need to be adept at diplomacy. Hence why military Generals who seize power, never make good diplomats or self imposed PM's

The unelected PM is supposed to be bringing happiness to the people, instead, due to his autocratic approach and cozying up to his Communist Chinese friends, single handedly made the country more unsafe and dangerous than anything seen in recent history.

The buck stops at the PM due to him being way out of his depth. The hunt for scapegoats continues.

The reluctance to use the term terrorism is becoming laughable. It was a TERRORIST ATTACK, plain and simple. A political motive ( maybe overlaid with some other issues, but political in the main) and it's tedious and insulting to continue the charade that it could be any number of things but "don't call it terrorism" ( in the instruction to police in how to describe it to the media).

Thailand is not going to shrivel up and die because there has been an attack. If security is improved, tourists will still come ( and rightly more concerned about traffic accidents, personal safety, scams, health...than terrorism).

The speech won't be a problem. It's awkward questions from journalists you can't adjust the attitude of that will (hopefully) cause grief.

What crybaby nonsense.

Did you hear of any people being murdered by UDD terrorists recently whilst out shopping in Bangkok ?.

What do you think Yingluck would be doing in a similar situation ?. Did you ever say that the buck stops with her ?.

Once you realise someone is a hypocrite, their argument is worth less than nothing.

Let me summarize:

- insult

- straw man

- two wrongs make a right

Well done sir.

Time ! After their ability to conduct a full scene of crime examination, hose the place clean and have it concreted over in less than 17 hours ?

Let's not forget too they didn't take time to bother with the evidence that the public and a news crew continued to find after the scene had been released.

I think being being a wum makes him orgasmic. It's how he gets his kicks. Just ignore him, he might go away.

"When asked if the bombing was transnational crime, he said the police needed time to ascertain if the attack was related to foreign criminal networks."

Contacting Turkish officials would be a good start.

"He confirmed no motive has yet to be ruled out."

So revenge for a love triangle (now a icosahedron) is still a possible motive.

So since they have not solved the crime yet, they will be giving the reward cash back yes?

the prime minister said the police need time to find out who was responsible for the ratchaprasong attack if its anything like the blast it will be quite some time .

Absolute farce just like the Ko Tao murder investigation. Pursue red herrings and the real perpetrators get away!

Absolute farce just like the Ko Tao murder investigation. Pursue red herrings and the real perpetrators get away!

Cynics might say that was what was supposed to have happened.

Terrible as the bombing was (and it was) it could prove to be a useful thing to "have in the bank" - could be used to justify quite a lot of measures.

Actually Thai police ?. need real POLICE ! Skilled professionals with

specific training and education which Thailand has none of. They admitted

several screwups thus far, also said no proper equipment and turned down thefree assistance of 2 nations, UK & US, who have an excess of both !

Of course they need more time. After 26 years they still haven't solved the Blue Diamond theft from Saudi. Cut them some slack.
