And yes, there is a huge difference between hidden cameras and rape, in this particular case it seems that he took pictures and took part in some sort of sexual abuse as well. In the link in Thai it says that he both abused and took pictures, possibly at the same time seeing as his ring is in the pictures that convicted him.

Whilst I agree with the sentiment directed towards this individual I do not think we can blame Thai society. The last few years have seen many reports of paedophile rings and abuse in Western culture/society. Belgium had a very highly organized system several years ago, UK has had the recent abuse cases in Rotherham plus the historical events committed by 'celebs' some 20-30 years ago; and Austria's family in the basement was not too long ago.

It is an indication of the need to constantly protect children no matter where or who you are, and I am pretty sure that 99.99% of any population have that goal. The remainder are sexual predators who not only know they are wrong but also work out how to beat the system and feed their perverted desires.

I agree with you first statement, which is fairly obvious but conclusion is ridiculous. If indeed that is what this pervert did, then he deserves a bit more than a slap from his mother, even if that is just a metaphor. Even if it was true that the paedeophillia consisted solely of taking pictures of children in the shower,this scum was a teacher for god's sake not some pubescent teenager getting his jollies.

Really? I doubt the UK authorities would agree. Setting up a spy camera will result in a custodial sentence, and if children are involved it will be a long one. There have been cases recently involving doctors and teachers. They all went to prison. Actually a 'rape' of ones privacy if you think about it.

Although he may have even have confessed to the crime, he has not been found guilty, pity there is no follow up on such cases when the court announces their verdict, and sentencing, then maybe police mug shot and anyother picture the media can get hold of would be fair game... (except the ones that started this investigation or even an image of any child).
