Prayut blames political leaders for problems
The Nation

BANGKOK: -- Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha Friday blamed unnamed political leaders for the country's problems, saying that their abuse of power and betrayal of the voters' trust led to dissatisfaction and conflict.

"They should use the power according to the intentions of people who voted for them. The people trust them to run the country and bring an improved standard of living to the people," he said during his weekly TV address Returning Happiness to People in the Country Friday night.

"If the government uses its power in the wrong way, the act should be considered treason. It is betrayal of the people's trust. These bad individuals never want to take responsibility for their actions and they never truly want to commit to the people."

I agree with him - along with the corrupt legal system and corrupt people in every public service. It is not often something sensible is said so lets give credit when we can.

He's been in charge 18 months. It's time to own your own problems.

Stop looking back, start looking forwards.

And stop whining all the time like a spoiled kid.

He was talking about Plaek Phibunsongkhram. wai2.gif

'The Blame Game' is the most popular game played in Thailand !

Yes, thats one of the main lessons in the general school. Did you take it?

Have to love when the leader of an illegal coup starts throwing out words like treason on others.

Don't you also want to blame the foreigners while you're at it.

.......... abuse of power . Finally he is talking about something he is actually an expert on.

....... never want to take responsibility for their actions .'

This from the man who has immunity from prosecution included in any constitution being written to protect himself and his lackeys from any future payback.

Are coups treason?

To everyone other than those who stage them and believe they are above any law, yes.

Just amazing...

The problem with Thailand is that it lives in the past ....

The rest of the world is moving on.... And judging by the lack of action in prepping for the ASEAN thingy.... its going to fall back even further ....

A culture with no vision and a me first mentality is to blame for the endless political soap opera.

Still it works out fine for the big money crowd, it is mainly theater for them.

I blame the wife for problems.

A poor workman always blames his tools. More cheese with that Whine General? :D

"Prayut blames political leaders for problems"

Dang, I thought he was finally blaming himself and the junta.

"If the government uses its power in the wrong way, the act should be considered treason. It is betrayal of the people's trust. These bad individuals never want to take responsibility for their actions and they never truly want to commit to the people."

Perfect description of the current situation.

Confucius says: He who seizes power without election can not betray the voter's trust

"They should use the power according to the intentions of people who voted for them."

Now shouldn't that apply to him, too?

He's right.

Politicians should keep their promises.

the problem is that the peole he is referring to are still very much players and lets face it - they shouldn't be

very easy to point the finger at the PM and say he is not running a democracy (true) but the reality is it is the only way effective changes will ever be accomplished, past democratic elected governments have shown how ineffective they are over decades of theiving - power abuse - and corruption and have failed to do anything about it - why should they, they are all enriching themselves, although the current solution is not ideal I honestly don't see any alternative, politicians in this country cannot be trusted (fact) so the only way to ensure they do what they were elected to do is to introduce stiff boundaries, rules, agencies, and laws that hold people in office to account and for the time being restrict them until such times they can be trusted

"They should use the power according to the intentions of people who voted for them."

Now shouldn't that apply to him, too?

Of course not!

Nobody ever voted for him.
