Thanks everyone, i booked Vietnam got a visa, sorry for not selecting anything else but it was a rush thing. I fly out Thursday sleep at a hotel near the airport (read some books on my kindle) and arrive back in Thailand to activate my elite visa on Friday.

Must say that I was pleasantly surprised that I get picked up and dropped off (for some reason I thought I would only be dropped off)

Not so happy that i was misinformed about canceling the visa, but everyone makes mistakes me included so that is forgiven already.

As im under 50 and soon to be divorced this was the only option (don't believe in ED or tourist visa's to stay in country I know many can do it but its just not for me)

Having flown regularly to both Vietnam (HCMC) and KL, I would personally go for KL, flights with Malaysian Airlines are very reasonable and hotels in KL are some of the best value in the region. The downside of Vietnam is the hassle with the visa, which of course is not required for KL.

Flights from Suvarnabhumi to Hanoi on VietJet Air round trip approx B4,200.

Enjoy.

When looking at their site its not 100% clear that they use suvarnabhumi, is there any way to confirm this. They look a lot like air asia that is why I worry they fly from don muang.

Different codes for the airport, BKK as opposed to DMK.

Pretty much all the budget carriers go from DMG, and National Carriers from BKK.

So Thai Airways, Singapore, Cathay, Malaysian etc all fit your bill.

Also some of the long haul carriers from Europe and the Middle East continue on from BKK to somewhere nearby and offer cheap prices to fill up, as most passengers are BKK bound. Bangkok Airways also fly from BKK, but are expensive.

Do a turnaround at KL....pop into town for a delicious plate of skate wing and fly back the next day.

So far looks the best.. any idea airline wise ?

Malaysian are fine.
