Got Si Internet as backup but Lost my 3BB!

I got Si Internet today as a backup for 3BB. It works fine the fibre optic cable plus the wifi.

The problem is that my notebook can't pick up the signal from the older 3BB fibre optic wifi connection. My smartphone picks it up and my PC works fine.

I treid rebooting my notebook to no avail.

Any suggestions as what to do to get the wifi signal as it was faster than the new one? Cheers

What channels do you have each WiFi Router set to use? 2.4GHz or 5GHz Band? (2.4GHz is the most common band in use)

Normal preferred channels are 1, 6, or 11 (as these do not overlap each other), though ANY Channel between 1-14 are valid, though some US-Centric equipment are set to ignore anything using 12, 13, 14, so we usually suggest staying away from those unless you know how to open all channel options on any WiFi devices you may ever use on your network.

If you have nearby WiFi neighbors it's usually good practice to use an Android Smartphone and download an app called "WiFi Analyzer" to see how the channels are currently being used and what channels would offer the best usage (without strong interference)

In the sample image below, WiFi Analyzer shows 5 WiFi Access Points (or WiFi Routers).

Channel 11 shows 3 WiFi Access Points, with one a very strong signal (probably very CLOSE).

Channel 6 shows 1 WiFi Access Point

Channel 4 shows 1 WiFi Access Point

It would be nice if the owner of "Tenda_597638" would move their WiFi Access Point to Channel 1, as currently using Channel 4 could create signal-noise competitive interference with user Tenda on Channel 6. "Tenda" has nowhere to go if they experience signal interference issues from the Channel 4 user unless they want to jump to Channel 14 (but then risk issues occurring with connecting devices that are setting-prevented from even seeing Channels 12, 13, 14).

Usually 'overlap' from a weaker-source signal doesn't really cause a lot of issues (unless it's you trying to connect to the weaker Access Point on Channel 4 called "Tenda_597638" and Access Point "Tenda" on Channel 6 is constantly active sending and receiving tons of data with clients).

Using "WiFi Analyzer" on your mobile phone will also tell you how well your WiFi Access Points (WiFi Routers) are working, how far they're reaching (just walk around and watch the patterns).

This topic mentioned Sinet was using 3rd-party or CAT installers for the fiber drops, and TOT IIG

Sinet fiber optic, any reviews? Post #2 Post #9

In March 2014, their parent company also signed a Joint Service Agreement with Super Broadband Network Company Limited (SBN) to jointly provide the hi-speed internet service in the area of Nakornratchasima, Chiangmai and other provinces.

Thanks, it'll take me a few days to work out what you mean but thanks very much.

Johnniey, I don't understand what's happening. Are you saying that your laptop can't see the 3BB, or that it won't connect?

Is it possible that you set the SI to connect automatically with the laptop, and it therefore isn't giving you a stop and an option?

Do you know how to disconnect from one and then connect to the other in the laptop?

I'm not buying the channel problem yet since your other devices connect. I think it's unique to the laptop.

Can you give a blow by blow description of what happens when you try to connect to 3BB if you can even see it?

Cheers.
