Stricter limit imposed for lottery purchase by resellers

BANGKOK, 3 October 2015 (NNT) – The Government Lottery Office has decided not to add more advance purchase quotas for 16 October draw, lessening advance purchase allowance to 15 per person.

The Government Lottery Commissioner Thanavath Phonvichai has said regrind the first day of the government lottery advance purchase scheme via Krung Thai Bank (KTB) for the 16 October draw that the Government Lottery Office has allocated the quota of 18,900 lottery bookings, or up to 1,980,000 lotteries sold nationwide at KTB branches.

He said that the tremendous public interest has forced the office to run out of available advance lotteries only within in a short period of time. The purchase limit for the November draw was adjusted from 50 bookings to 15 bookings per person to ensure the distribution of lotteries to individual resellers.

The lottery commissioner has said that the advance purchase scheme will be more complete for the sales for 16 November draw, while the next sale period will be 18-22 October 2015, for the 1 November draw.

The current lottery selling plan has distributed lotteries to 6,000-8,000 additional resellers, while feedback from the first advance purchase run will be taken into account to maximize the system efficiency.

The Revenue Department will also conduct tax inspection for one of the major lottery resellers to ensure the transparency of lottery sales, while reserved lotteries will be distributed via postal services.

One of the worst lotteries ever! And it is government controlled.

Thank God that's sorted!

Now may'be we can spend a little time on a few more smaller issues.....

Human Rights

Freedom of speach

The justice system

Detention without trial/charges/attitude adjustment

The RTP

The tax system

Health care

Education

The roads

The environment

And God forbid, address corruption.

But hey, credit where credit is due, errrrr, errr, som tam is really great.

Oops edit....

Less of the D word, second 2 letters being ic and more perhaps of the D word, second 2 letters being em.

A whole year to fix ( not yet fixed ) something as simple as a lottery. Kind of gives you a hint of how long it will take to fix more urgent matters.

Thai peeps take their lottery very seriously, it is a main topic of conversation. Where I come from millions watch the draw live on a Saturday night with their little tickets with Auntie Mables birdthay. At least Thai have trees and ghosts to tell them the winners.

Agree ... Its a way for the Govt to keep the poor in the dirt ...

Sadly talking Lottery-prices etc. is all they have done in the last year ... Ridiculous country but seems like thais are okay with that or too lazy to bother ... blink.png

Small wonder, reading this continuing farce, that the vast majority of Thais 'invest' in the parallel mafia lotto which seems to be quite well run on a local level.

Agreed, its taken a while, but at least its been done, no more 100 +bht for lottery tickets and the first prize now at 6 mill IMHO i think the General is doing OK

If the problem had of been sorted in 1 week, there would still be those bitching and complaining- just goes to prove you can't please everyone.
