S4 replacement screen and sensor board - better to get a new phone?

Featured Replies

I have an S4 LTE version and the screen has a crack and also the sensor board is broke so none of the sensor like proximity or accelometer work.

How much would it roughly cost to replace these or is it just better getting a new phone?

About 8000 baht

WOW 8k, whats the breakdown on that?

Maybe 2K for cover and 6K for the panel

Samsung are notoriously expensive to fix ime

A screen is usually around 6k but depends on the model and they know you are screwed if expensive phone isn't working so it's pretty easy for them to bend you over

Is probably to safer to get a new phone than spend that much to end up with an "old" s4

Will need a new battery soon after the repair and then you will have spent as much or more than a newer phone with warranty etc

There are a number of S-4 screen repair videos on YouTube. Parts should be available on AliExpress or E-Bay. Check out the videos and see if it is something you would want to tackle.

If it was just a cracked screen, then replace, but since it is more just go and get a new phone.
