Looking For Superbike In Bangkok

Featured Replies

this october 2006 i wanna go to thailand. so, did anybody here know good bike shop and the price is below 70000bath..recommended model is suzuki and Honda...(Honda RVF400 or Suzuki GSX400 or Honda CB4 SuperFour or suzuki gsx600 or 750...)...we planned to go Bangkok because more choice...

can anybody advice regarding on price and shop....

Without plate all aroung 50k for a decent one

A Super 400c Type R or S Vtec is up near 100k

XJR 400 - 40k

VFR with registration around 50-70k

Thjere was a guy on here selling a VFR which he had reduced to 60k.

Yep,

would agree with the posts... you'll be looking at about 70k for a good quality VFR400.. certainly the pick of the bunch if you're looking for a little pocket rocket.

If you're thinking of heading out of Bangkok on it, which I hope that you are, be sure to get one with a plate.... I have known guys (in the northern provinces at least) who have had their bikes conviscated on the spot :D for riding with no plate... maybe les common in other regions?

If you're going to be doing much city riding, the VFR isn't the most manoeuvrable of course - the CB wins hands down... however, on the open road, the extra torque of the V4 is fab.

never had face-to face dealing with any Bangkok dealers... maybe consider heading over to Pattaya for a day's research :o there's a large 'big bike community' out there.

Be aware that almost 100% of the bikes will have had their odometers messed with and you should know what to look for as things can go wrong very quickly... like valves seizing up etc... but that's another story.

Cheers and good luck,

James

(Very pleased VFR owner)

I agree, the VFR400 is a nice bike both in looks and performance. The problem I had was finding a decent mechanic to work on the V4 engine.Eventually I sold mine for 20K coz the engine was knackered and smoking like a Chinaman.

A CBR400 would be a better choice IMO,easier to work on and more interchangable parts.
