I think you have to have a high spec android phone if you don't want to feel like smashing it on the floor a few times a day....i had a Samsung Galaxy Grand 2, and it had a mind of its own at times and sluggish. Pressing buttons that only worked when it wanted exercise...

now i have the latest S6 EDGE+, and its a completely different animal, super fast and reliable.

But i will still get the iPhone6S+ when i can find one at the right price, and give the 'Edge' to my Mrs...she loves it!

The 'Edge+' is a superb phone for taking photos, but i am an Apple man myself...and i don't need anyone telling me different thanks, if you don't like Apple, thats up to you, but no need to try and convince me otherwise.

I also had a galaxy grand and got less than 12 months out of it.

Sorry no offense but you are obviously wrong !

I stopped buying the high end phones since cheaper ones are almost as good and will never spend more than 8000 for any phone anymore.

It's just ridiculous and only people who trust stupid marketing can think this way.

I am a marketer and I know how easy it is to cheat people to push them to buy something that costs twice the price of what is already enough and almost as good !

Yeah that'll be right. My cheap ass Asus smart phone I use at work is just as good as my 30,000 baht iPhone I use at home.

Get a grip.

My old Galaxy 3 died in Burma. I think a power spike got it. Big problems there with this. Power outages every day, spikes all the time. Anyway, it was old and I was ready to replace it anyway.

A friend is recommending the Zenfone 4, Asus. I've seen it, and it does look good. Wifey just got a new Tab. And it is amazing. Runs fast, beautiful screen, fantastic pics. A wonderful phone. Zero problems. Other than the initial price!

So...if price isn't an issue, what's best? The Zenfone 4 or the new Galaxy 6? Just curious as to your thought....thanks!!

P.S. I've yet to see a review that ranks the Zenfone higher than a Samsung. A valid review, not just somebody's YouTube video. 55555

Don't touch an iphone with a pooey stick. Overpriced pretty looking junk.

Maybe this will help.

But use it as a guide only; you want to buy one here that works with local networks (there are different frequencies).

And do go and look at them and try them out (and consider battery life).

Agreed, Apple overpriced, overhyped, just a fashion statement.

If you buy anything less than an iPhone or a Samsung Galaxy S you will wonder what all the rave is about smart phones. A basic smart phone will be slow, unresponsive, freezes all the time and will drive you nuts.

Cobblers! I've got a first generation Moto G runnung Lollipop 5.1. Awesome screen, awesome performance for the price. Very responsive, fast enough and never freezes. Surely the best value for money ever.

If you Nokia Fan and user since long or ever - same me - then you could also use a Nokia Lumia.

Prices around 3 - 5.000 Baht +

I do not like to swim with the masses, so I did not want a Apple - expensive too or a Samsung - all have.

I have one Lumia 640, 650, 660? Microsoft inside, since more than a year and I am ok with it. thumbsup.gif

Check if Zen has removable battery if that's an issue for you.

As I'm waiting for a new phone, I've borrowed the maid's spare phone for a few days. It's an i-Mobile smart phone and she paid under 3k Baht. Honestly, it sucks. The interface is not intuitive, the screen is not clear and people I call say they can barely hear me. Terrible audio quality. I just tried a test, having my wife call me on it and I used her Galaxy Tab 2. Complete difference. The cheap phone makes you sound like you're talking through a pillow.

Looks like I'll break down and get the S6.

Don't go for a very cheap entry level phone - You will outgrow it pretty fast.

Initially you might think you will use only one or two simple apps, but by and by you will go in for many more.

Addictive it is!!!

I haven't tried the Zenphone mate, so cannot really compare it....but all I can say is, nobody could fault the S6. I think the picture quality is in a class of its own, don't know why they built a flash in there, because it's never really needed. My Mrs will enjoy it soon, for her 2 million selfies a day....lol

Go for the new Samsung J5 for only 7,000 B. Its a winner. Released in June 2015

Hmm, let's think about this,

Samsung designer....."shall we put the latest, fastest, most efficient operating system and the best camera ever in the S6 +?

Or shall we put all the best technology in a cheap-assed 7,000 baht job?"

......say no more.

You won't regret it if you do....it's only the ones who are too tight to pay for a top spec phone that say "I have a 5,000 baht phone, and it works perfectly". Yeah right, the Grand 2 was about 12,000, and it really was garbage compared to the S6. But you get what you pay for, so can't complain, although I did complain a lot about the stupid phone having a mind of its own. Lol Edited by Ghostnigel

I lost my note 3 so decided to get a second hand s4 4g model, I looked at. The lower end models but they literally fall apart so if you one budget get a lower spec decent model, anything s4 or above ( which is 3 years old) still has. Better specs than the latest iPhone

I had A galaxy Ace 2 A few years ago.It drove me crazy. It turned me to Apple.I went with an IPhone.I'm not A fan of Apple but

No problems with the iPhone. Before you purchase A Samsung maybe talk to some people who own them.See what they have to say.

Comparing a Galaxy Ace with a iPhone is a bit silly don't you think?

The iPhone costs about three times at much as an Galaxy Ace.

and yet it's 4 times better, so the comparison is valid.

You did better than me.

I bought one at Tukcom Pattaya on special. I had to take it back three times in two weeks due to battery problems. It simply would not charge after going flat.

Eventually after I showed I was annoyed the lady at Tukcom yelled at me "not my problem, we sell on promotion, you go back to factory".

gosh..

rarely read such a load of nonsense/bullsh*t in some posts.

However, for a budget phone, with at least two year "Goggle Update guaranty", I would always go for the "i-Mobile IQ-2 Android One."

Great phone, running now on Marshmallow, instead of Samsungs antiquated Kitkat.

Just 4400 Baht and way better specs/camera/hardware, than the outdated Samsung V plus.

I've been testing an I-mobile for a few days now. Nothing compared to my old Galaxy S3. Screen is dull, audio is dull, people say they have a hard time hearing me. I know it's Android, but just doesn't run as smoothly as my Samsung. Not impressed at all. And impossible to even try to compare it to an S5. Not in the same ball park.

I'm a novice with this stuff. As far as the phone goes, it's awesome. It has a quick charge ability which is amazing. I went from 36% battery level to 100% in a bit over 30 minutes. May have been less, I didn't time it.

Like comparing a used Honda to a new Mercedes.
