Clinics for simple blood tests in central BKK

Featured Replies

Does anyone have any recommendations for a clinic in central BKK for cheap blood tests? Getting general blood work done at international and private hospitals is ridiculously expensive.

Actually if you do it through the check up enter, taking a low end package and tacking o ntests if necessary it is not very expensive.

But you can save about 25% by going to a lab such as

http://www.bangkoklab.com/

As almost all doctors in Bangkok have their outpatient services in hospitals, stand alone clinics tend to be dodgy and are better avoided. Labs should be OK as long as of reasonable size (avoid hole-in-the-wall places in tourist areas offering STD test and the like).

Thanks Sheryl. I am not looking for packages, but rather specific blood tests I just need to keep and eye on right now and they are very expensive at the private hospitals. I will look into the links. Thanks!

If the "specific" tests you seek are very expensive in hospitals they are likely to be expensive wherever you go.

If you can say what tests you want it may be possible to offer more focused advice.

The Government Hospital on Samui, does any blood tests at a very reasonable price and very fast to get results back on most... (usually within hours)

One has to see the Doc first, but that's usually about 100 baht!

I am sure it would be the same at Government hospitals in BKK....

There are a number of branches of Pathlab in Bangkok (Silom, Sukhumvit etc).

I am not sure how they work. Do you just walk in and request a blood test?

I am curious to know myself.
