US and Israeli leaders to meet for first time since Iran nuclear accord

606x341_316719.jpg

WASHINGTON: -- The Israeli and US leaders are holding their first meeting since the Iran nuclear accord was struck.

Relations between the two countries have been strained since the signing of the July deal, which Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu fiercely opposed.

At the Washington talks, he is likely to seek an increase in annual US military aid for Israel.

Netanyahu said discussions would focus on “possible progress with the Palestinians, or at least stabilising the situation with them.” Ahead of the meeting, he told his cabinet stronger security for Israel would also be on the agenda.

US President Barack Obama is expected to push for fresh commitment to a two-state solution to the conflict, which has seen at least 73 Palestinians and 12 Israelis killed since October 1, 2015.

USA is the most powerful country in the world. Why on earth do they kow tow to this pariah state Israel, that defies international law, tries to undermine the US president and his foreign policy, spies on its ally the USA, kills US soldiers, drags the USA and allies into two unnecessary Middle Eastern wars and never sends a single medic even in support, and endangers US citizens because of its blind support of Israel. And pays $3bn pa...soon to increase to $4-5bn for the privilege.

Mystifying

In another a year or so, Israel will deal with a new president, hopefully not as useless Iran and Arabs pleaser

and appeaser as the current one...

Yes, HRC will indeed be better.

The dangers facing both our nations in the Middle East require bold and united responses. We must remain committed to preventing Iran from ever acquiring a nuclear weapon, and to vigorously enforcing the new nuclear agreement. I would move to step up our partnership to confront Iran and its proxies across the region, and make sure dangerous Russian and Iranian weapons don’t end up in Hezbollah’s hands or threaten Israel. I also will combat growing efforts to isolate Israel internationally and to undermine its future as a Jewish state, including the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement. I’ve spoken out against BDS in the United States and at the U.N., and will continue to do so.

Why? that is because Israel is the only democracy in the middle east whereby it's not controlled by ether mad men,

terrorists, dictators and tyrants like all the Arab states there,

" not even send a single medic even I support" what are you talking about? what medics and to who's support?

Democracy?...tell that to the 4.5 million Palestinians under occupation for 67 years.

Israel did not send a single medic let alone troops to the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq fought mainly on Israel's behalf. Some closest US ally with a special relationship!

Yep, democracy, with Arabs heads of parties sitting in the Keenest, Israel's parliament, and foul mouth Israel

every chance the have with impunity, and if it wasn't for a 100% democracy preserving human rights for

all, there will no be 4.5 millions Arabs in Israel, there will be much, much less,

and as for sending troops to Afghanistan and Iraq? really? can you even begin to gauge the reactions of

the Iraqis and Afghan leaders and people if they knew that there are Israeli troops on their land?

how would this help, " winning the hearts and minds " of those people?

Why even bother? The obvious goal of the Israel demonization agenda is the end of Israel. Some are open about it, some stealthy. They're more than OK with a plethora of Arab and/or Muslim dominated states but somehow ONE tiny state with a majority of Jews offends their very being.

It would indeed be a first for Israel to be coy about upsetting Arab neighbors. Pretty weak excuse for not even sending non combatant medics to help yoiur closest ally when US does so much for Israel.

Not much point in having Israel as your closest ally, when it is frightened of upsetting your enemies.
Seriously what does the USA get for its $3bn+ pa? It would be be far less of a constant embarrassment and headache for the USA to cut Israel adrift. It would certainly win the USA more friends in the world.

Even you can nor be dense enough not to realize that Israel is doing exactly what the USA wants them to do by not sending troops/help. Washington does not want to alienate Arab allies. rolleyes.gif

The whole Middle East is a disaster. the United States needs to withdraw from that part of the World and let the Israeli's and Arabs fend for themselves. When America has people who are homeless and Veterans who cannot get VA care there is something drastically wrong. Take the Billions the US gives to Israel and give it to Americans. Bring the troops home and start to rebuild the American homeland. Uncle Sam has done enough spending around the World for a lifetime. No more.
