Weekend-Escape or similar as a present? What? Where?

Featured Replies

Hi all:

I like to give a nice present to a friend (couple) to return a great favor. Any ideas? Maybe a weekend in a nice resort not more than 1 car-hour or so away?

Any feedback or idea much appreciated. Thank you. MS>

One hour doesn't get you very far. Within that radius all the best resorts are in Pattaya itself. If you can increase the travel time your options widen.

I like to go to Bang Chang Beach at least once a week, but maybe only for those who like deserted beaches. It's a great place for thinking thoughts of gratitude and far away from the maddening crowd (in mental terms) but maybe not suitable for what you have in mind. A lovely idea you have and hope you find something that will bring them great pleasure...Cheers.

The OP specified not more than one car hour away, and this is the Pattaya forum.

Put them on the 30 baht ferry to Koh Larn.....easy, cheap and a world alway from the Pattaya madness..???

Try Mae Ram Pheung beach area just past Rayong VIP beach resort does rooms and breakfast for about 1,400bht per night

Been there lately? It's become a sardine can for the Chinese.

ferry no. speed boat yes. guarantees the quieter side of the island

Koh samet Paradee resort is nice, only 25000 thb private pool villa.

Koh Samet. We stayed at Malibu resort southeast part of the island. Had all we needed. Nightly barbecues outside with a choice of each of the ~7 hotels. Some local fun stuff i.e. 3/4 day snorkel trip boat package around the island. Swam at two or maybe three sites, don't remember now. No nightlife down there but that was the idea. We had GFs with us

If Rayong isn't too far try this place. The website dosnt do it justice. Been there many times, fantastic setting, service, restaurant, just about everything. Not the cheapest but worth it.

Or look up Tamnanpar Resort (can't find their own site but they are listed on the usual trip advisor etc).

Again further a field than 1 hour but a good place. Great water-park if kids are involved.

Found it here.

Hi Dotpoom

Did you ever go to Romsons beachside restaurent?

Stopped going personally over a couole of years ago becasue it had sort of gone down the tubes with its food, wonder if its any better nowadays?

Used to love the quietness of the beacxh area, maybe you know of another place that has good food on that area of Bang Chang would love to start going down there again and away from the madness.of Pattaya

In fact anybody interested in doing a house swop down there for a house and pool in the Crocadile crosroads area of Soi Siam We would be very interested.

Having thought a minute what about that nice hotel for a weekend break which is bang on the beach and used to serve great food with excellent service maybe about 2Ks from the turnoff to Romsons

Have the Chinese masses left Ko Lan?

Or was it just a media frenzy?

I am surprised to read that this is still a quiet getaway.

Its five years or so that we went there and even then it was the opposite of a quiet place.
