Even if you get an Agent your girlfriend must go to Embassy for the Interview.

You can do the application easily yourself but as you are in France that is a bit difficult.

Make sure that she has all the paperwork a list which you can get from the Embassy / VFS.

Also make sure that she has insurance (for the duration of the trip) with at least 30.000 EURO coverage, another document which YOU should start preparing is the host guarantee letter:

Would that effect also other neighboring countries ?

For example German guy wants to get his Thai Girlfriend a visa?

External bureaus are not really required if you take the time to prepare everything yourself: read the Schengen sticky here and the embassy website. Be aware that the TLS outsource party is entirely optional so if you contact the French directly you save yourself a service fee. Sadly some embassies, especially the French and Spanish seem reluctant to apply the right of direct access and try to sent people to the optional external TLS/VFS (which saves the embassy time, hassle, money).

The biggest hurdle is preparing the application as to make both the travel purpose genuine and supplying evidence that makes a timely return to Thailand likely. Popular rejection reasons are because the purpose of travel seemed unclear/not-genuin or because the embassy worries that the applicant will not return to Thailand due to too few ties to Thailand.

A visit to the embassy (or TLS) to hand in the paperwork is unavoidable indeed. Though strictly speaking it's not an interview but a short Q&A. Depending on the applicant it could be as little as 1-2 questions (who are you? Why go to France and for how long?) or many more. If the traveller is genuine and has a good idea of whatever is in plan there should be no issue.Obviously answer truthfully.

The standard maximum processing time of 15 calender days still applies, and Thailand is not really a risk country when it comes to being a source of terrorists or radicals, so further review (taking up to 60 days) on that basis is unlikely. If the application is complete it should in most cases be processed within 15 days unless her profile raises some red flags.

with all countries within the eu.on high alert and some of them closing the borders.anyone who wants to visit any of them will find there will be very very stringent checks.

so a message for the op.do all the applying YOURSELF.nothing is going to be guaranteed.

OP - are you 100% certain that your girlfriend still wants to visit France at the present time, in the light of the recent Paris terrorist outrages?

I am a Brit living in Thailand, and the reason I ask is that my Thai wife was all set to accompany me on my next trip to visit my sister, who lives and works in Paris, next spring. Indeed, she had even gone as far as renewing her passport which had expired!

However, in the light of the Paris outrages, she has now got extremely cold feet on this prospect. Although she has told me that she will put off making her final decision until next February (which will be the earliest she can apply for a Schengen visa), I think that I know her well enough after nearly 7 years of marriage to realise that there seems little likelihood of her changing her mind by then.

And, to be quite honest, if I were in her shoes, I myself would feel extremely concerned about making my first-ever trip to France in the present climate there.

" i would like to make a visa for my girlfriend"

Even though the OP's first language is unlikely to be English he needs to understand "he" cannot "make a visa " for his girl friend.

Any application has to be made in the girl friends name and signed by the girl friend.

Assistance can be provided in completing the application but the success/failure of the application depends on information/evidence provided by the applicant.
