Can anyone please advise the best way to reach the airport from Petchaburi Road (near Thong Lo suk soi 55)?

I would prefer not to take a taxi but a bus if possible.

I flew out on Sunday afternoon. Took taxi (hailed in street) from soi Thong Lor 1 and was astonished to reach the airport in 25 minutes for 163 baht (i added a tip). My fiance left at the same time by different taxi to Patuthanee (near Don Muang) to stay with her mum for a few days and took longer to get there for 220 baht!. I left soi at 2.20pm for a 5.35pm flight. The only delay was complete gridlock at drop off point outside terminal.

There is a bus from On Nut, but frankly, for 163 baht, a taxi is a far better way than walking to BTS, riding to On Nut, then finding/taking bus...

[use FREE BTS shuttle bus from Thonglor/Petburi to Onnut! *(O rdoes it serve some other stop??
